Services: Asset Inventory

An asset inventory is a valuable management tool for present and future planning beyond your immediate relocation needs. Using state-of-the-art software, IMC can conduct a comprehensive pre-move inventoryyou’re your company’s furniture, furnishings and equipment.

The numerous Benefits of an Asset Inventory include:

  • Facilities Department
An asset inventory is a helpful resource for in-house planning and design. By knowing what you already have, it’s easier for architects and designers to determine additional furniture, furnishing and/or equipment that will be needed at your new location and create an accurate budget.
  • Purchasing Department
Present and future purchases can be budgeted based on the condition of existing inventoried items, facilitating accurate future orders and providing the necessary information for negotiating price agreements with dealers and manufacturers.
  • Financial Planning Department
With an asset inventory, useful data needed for corporate annual reports will be readily at hand. By examining existing conditions noted on the inventory, budgetary projections for annual/periodic furniture and equipment replacement can be prepared well in advance. Additionally, an on-hand asset inventory will prove advantageous during accounting audits.
  • Insurance
An asset inventory reflects an accurate value of fixed assets for present insurance coverage and future devaluation. It also provides a valuable record of specific items in the event of loss, theft or damage.

In preparing an asset inventory, IMC’s relocation professionals perform a wide Scope of Services, including:

  • Comprehensive Asset Survey
IMC will survey all areas of the company for categories of items to be inventoried. Individual categories of furniture and furnishings are catalogued and items to be inventoried are photographed.

When putting together an inventory, each individual item is classified by manufacturer, description, dimensions, size, material/finish, color, level of condition (new/excellent-poor) and quantity of item on hand.
  • Data File and Printout
Clients are provided with both a disc data file and hard copy printout of the assets which have been inventoried.
  • Blueprint Coordination
