Services: Planning & Pre-Move Consultation
Long before you make a move, IMC is already hard at work. As soon as you contact us about a contemplated move, we begin outlining a relocation strategy. During this time, IMC will:
- Determine project objectives
Meet with client to develop a thorough understanding of project needs;
Review the project outline, including time factors, scheduling, destination location;
Assign an IMC project manager to oversee the move. - Conduct a physical survey
Identify furniture, equipment, files and other contents that need to be relocated;
Review building constraints at both locations such as elevators, loading docks, etc.;
Meet with building management at both locations to discuss issues such as insurance and accessibility. - Establish a preliminary budget
Prepare a draft of the move plan involving all elements of the relocation;
Present draft to client and work out changes or alterations (if any). - Bid specification for moving companies
Prepare situation analyses for moving companies and request costs for materials, preparation and physical move;
Evaluate bid responses and recommend a qualified carrier to client;
Update budget to reflect choice of carrier - Finalize move plan
Establish move schedule;
Inform client staff as to upcoming move-related dates via meetings and IMC-produced newsletters;
Identify and accommodate important and unique needs - Organize project move teams
Serve as liaison between the client and vendors;
Work with computer and communication staffs to insure proper handling and re-installation;
Conduct move coordinator meetings.
